Giorgio Armani – Lasting silk UV foundation
This foundation claims to be a long-lasting matte wear in all conditions, the result is high resistance make-up that is fluid, extremely watery and fresh, giving a luminous semi-matte finish that lasts. A barely perceivable seamless silk veil of infallible semi matte colour that dresses the face to look perfect.
I decided to give this foundation a try because of all the amazing reviews I’d read about it. I thought it would suit my skin perfectly due to having an oily T-zone. My usual go to foundation is Estee Lauder – double wear in shade ‘Cool Bone’.
I was colour matched at an Giorgio Armani make up counter in John Lewis. I’m shade 2 – one of the lightest shades, one thing I would say about this foundation is it’s the perfect colour match for me – I don’t think I’ve ever found one so perfect.
I’ve really given this foundation a good go, and I want to love it but can’t. It has its flaws – one of those being it barely covers mine! It leaves my skin looking powdery and thirsty, this foundation is matte not semi-matte on me.
- SPF 20
- extensive colour range
- comes with pump
- not long-lasting
- light coverage
As you can see from above the coverage is only light – I don’t like to apply layers of foundation to build coverage for the fear of looking cakey! I feel the foundation settles in my fine lines and pores. In the picture above I have only foundation on my face, no setting powder etc.
This foundation could potentially suit my skin a lot better during the summer months and I’d like to give it another try with a new primer. I love that it has SPF 20. It’s not terrible, I think it just doesn’t currently suit my skin. I won’t be rushing out to repurchase.
I’d love to know what you think of this foundation? Does it suit your skin all year round?
I’m now on the hunt for a new foundation…..
