Barry M released limited edition Matte Lip Kits at the beginning of this month, the collection has 3 colours to choose from. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get my hands on them all but picked up the last one available in my local Superdrug.
The shade I picked up is called ‘runway’ I’d describe the colour as a dark berry pink, they also do a light pink ‘Pose’ and ‘Go to’ which is a nude. Each lip kit comes boxed as a duo with a liner and matte liquid lip paint.
I’ll start with Liner as you obviously need to outline your lips first, it glides on like a dream with no dragging. Straight away I noticed how smooth the liner was and that it’s nicely pigmented. Barry M lip liners are really affordable and I’m so surprised how great they are – just as good if not better than some of the higher end brands I’ve tried. I then went onto apply the liquid lip paint the texture is light and creamy with great colour coverage in one swipe. The lipstick dried matte within seconds.
I love the formula of these liquid lip paints, they don’t dry my lips out and the colour is so pretty and highly pigmented. I’m now totally obsessed by ‘runway’ it’s a rich dark pinkie berry colour – although in pictures I think it comes off a little bit red.
So what you’re most probably wondering – what is the longevity like…..I applied this lipstick at around 7:30am and then applied again after my lunch break at about 1pm and I used my Emma Hardie cleansing balm to remove completely later in the evening. I love how long it lasted on my lips and it didn’t wear off patchy or crumbly. Sometimes I worry about the ‘commitment’s’ a darker lip comes with if I’ve got a busy day but i will be honest this one was a total pleasure to wear and made me feel good.
This is an amazing dupe of the Kylie Lip Kit at a fraction of the price for just £6.99 and you won’t have any costly shipping fee’s to pay! The Barry M Lip Kits are sold at Boots & Superdrug but I’d be quick as they are limited edition and selling like hot cakes!
